It has been a storybook season for Rolison Performance Group (RPG) driver Caleb Gafrarar. After earning Superkarts! USA (SKUSA) Pro Tour and the United States Pro Kart Series (USPKS) titles, both in the X30 Junior ranks, Gafrarar has his eyes set on the ROK Cup USA ROK Vegas title this coming weekend. A front-runner in the 2021 edition of the popular event that is expected to draw more than 400 entries, Gafrarar returns to Las Vegas with one goal.
“This is one of the races that I have not yet won but has always been on my list to achieve a victory here,” explains the 14-year-old. “It is a new track layout this year which plays to my hand well as I tend to get up to speed quickly. Hopefully, I will be able to do that again and carry that momentum through the weekend.”
Entering the ROK Junior and VLR Junior categories, Gafrarar will double his chances in Las Vegas. With increased track time and extra sessions to learn an evolving track, the North Carolina native is hoping to use that to his advantage.
Gafrarar adds, “We have run two classes all season long and done so without any issues. Vegas will provide another challenge to me as it is a temporary circuit, and one wrong move can ruin your entire weekend, but I am ready and can’t wait to get on track.”
With a five-day event planned, Caleb G will hit the track Wednesday for official practice before qualifying on Thursday afternoon. Friday and Saturday will showcase heat races before Sunday’s main events, which will crown the 2022 ROK Vegas Champions. Caleb Gafrarar would like to thank Rolison Performance Group, OTK USA, Kosmic, AVP Engines, his mechanic, Will Orsini, Circle K, Molecule, Bell Helmets, Minus 273, ULV, From the Ashes, and CPI Security for the continued support in the 2022 racing season.
