Caleb Gafrarar Grabs Another Top-Five in the UK

This weekend, historic Brands Hatch Indy circuit was the home of the Peter Rogers Trophy with Dreamair Aviation as American Caleb Gafrarar competed in the United Formula Ford championship with the potent Ammonite Motorsports program. Closing the weekend with eighth and fifth-place results, the talented youngster looks forward to his next Formula Ford event in mid-September.

“It is difficult to just show up and race against drivers who are regulars at tracks like Brands Hatch, or have been here weekend after weekend testing,” explained Caleb Gafrarar. “As a racer, you always want to win but the results this weekend are something to be proud of and build upon as I focus on the next one.”

After qualifying in the sixth position and starting the first wheel-to-wheel action from the outside of row three, Gafrarar crossed under the checkered flag in eighth. Despite making solid passes and a big push to move forward, it was the wrong place at the wrong time on too many occasions for the American as he found himself relegated down the order. Regardless, he made big passes and learned some lessons.

Back on track for race two and starting in the eighth position, Gafrarar had trouble on the opening lap as he was pushed wide and down to P11 on the timing sheets. With a never-give-up attitude, Gafrarar drove his way forward, looking like a seasoned veteran, crossing the line in the fifth position. With the P5 result, Caleb Gafrarar was the highest finisher of the three Ammonite Motorsports competitors.

Gafrarar continued, “Another weekend of learning a lot and a huge bucket list item to compete at Brands Hatch. Coming back here next month, I feel I will be much better prepared and ready to attack for the top step of the podium.”

The next United Formula Ford Championship event for Caleb Gafrarar will be over the September 14-15 weekend as he returns to Brands Hatch.

Caleb would like to thank Ammonite Motorsports, Bell Helmets, Molecule, Racing Electronics, and Circle K for their continued support.
